Purchasing Objective

Within LVMWD, the Purchasing Unit's primary objective is to directly obtain or assist district staff to obtain quality material and services at the best competitive price and terms.  We recognize vendors' expertise in new and better products and methods, and encourage them to share their knowledge and insights.

Sales Calls and Contacts

If you would like to make a sales call, an appointment is required. This ensures that staff will allow adequate time for you to introduce your firm or product. To make an appointment, contact us through Feedback and Inquires or by phone at 818-251-2115.  Although you are welcome to come in to talk directly with us, please be aware that most of our procurements result from competitive processes.  Supplier presentations have little impact in these processes.

In selecting vendors to receive bid information, LVMWD makes every attempt to match available information and current district needs.  While your efforts to introduce yourself and your products are appreciated, there is no guarantee that your company will be contacted.

Basis of Award

LVMWD's Purchasing Unit strives to obtain the "best" competitive pricing and terms.  In addition to per-unit costing, factors such as delivery schedule, quality, compatibility, references, experience, response, warranty, resources, financial stability, etc., may be considered in the award of a purchase order or contract.
