October is Shower Better Month
Showering accounts for nearly 17 percent of indoor water use (Source: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)). Shower better by replacing your old showerhead with a water-efficient, EPA WaterSense-labeled model.
WaterSense-labeled showerheads are available in various styles and price points. By replacing just one showerhead with a WaterSense-labeled model, the EPA estimates the average family can save 2,900 gallons of water and more than $70 in energy and water costs every year.
If every U.S. household replaced existing showerheads with WaterSense-labeled models, we could save more than 260 billion gallons of water annually!
Another way to reduce water use is by limiting shower time to five minutes or less. Open the Pandora app, and tune into the "Water Lover's Station" for a playlist of over 100 songs under five minutes. As soon as your favorite song is over, so is your shower!
