12 chosen by the Board of Directors to represent
Las Virgenes Municipal Water District in Metropolitan
Water District's Annual Student Art Contest.
Please note, the name of the
artist is only listed on the full-size poster with
written permission from their parents.
Every year, local grade-school
students turn their attention to the "art of water
savings" as they create posters for the annual
Water Awareness Poster Contest. With creative, conservation-themed
artwork, students compete for a place in the Metropolitan
Water District's widely distributed student art calendar.
Each winner receives a T-shirt
imprinted with their artwork, and their poster is placed
on public display at the water district headquarters.
The school of the district's top finalist is awarded
the "Ann Dorgelo Awared for Outstanding Achievement
in Water Awareness"
, a magnificent Waterford-crystal
perpetual trophy to display in their office for the
next school year.
You can see the work of past
winners here on our virtual
gallery or come see them on display at our headquarters
on Las Virgenes Road.
Guidelines for
participation are distributed each year in local K
- 5 classrooms throughout Las Virgenes Municipal Water
District service area.
