Quercus agrifolia

Evergreen tree provides deep, wide shade with holly-like leathery dark green leaves, tooth edged, 1-3" long. Thick moist bark helps protect tree against fires. Plant size:

Plant size is 20-70 feet high by 35 feet plus wide

 
Quercus beberidifolia

Shrub with dense growth, variable leaves,usually ¾ - 1 ½" long, medium green on top, grayish on bottom, and wavy edges. Good as clipped hedge or background.

Plant size is 6-15 feet high by 6-15 feet wide.

 
Quercus lobata

Deciduous tree, trademark of valley grasslands. Crooked branches and checked gray bark. Leaves are deeply cut, round-lobed 3-4” long, 2-3" wide, dark green on top, paler on bottom. Tolerant of heat.

Plant size is 15-70 feet high by 35-70 feet wide.

 
Quercus wislizenii

Dense, rounded crown, often wider than high. Glossy, elliptical, green leaves 1-4" long with smooth or spiny edges and abruptly pointed tip. Tolerant of shade.

Plant size is 30-75 feet high by 30-40 feet wide.
