Conservation
Did you know that upward of 70% of the water consumed by many homes is used outdoors? Rotating Landscape Sprinkler Nozzles can help save water while maintaining a healthy landscape or improving a poorly irrigated one.

What are rotating sprinkler nozzles?

Unlike the typical pop-up sprinkler nozzle that sprays a fan of water, rotating nozzles turn in circles, shooting multi-trajectory, rotating streams of water.

Why should I consider replacing my sprinkler nozzles with rotating nozzles?

These nozzles apply water more slowly and uniformly than conventional spray nozzles - especially when adjusted for specific site conditions.

The multi-trajectory, wind-resistant, rotating streams provide an extremely uniform application of water, minimizing the need to extend watering times to compensate for the brown spots in lawns that result from poorly designed irrigation systems.

Additionally, the models with low application rates help to significantly control runoff from slopes and tight soils onto sidewalks and streets since the rate at which the water is being applied more closely matches the rate at which the soil can accept the water. Decreasing run-off helps to keep our local streams and beaches free of the pollutants carried by urban runoff.

How much water will they save?

Results will vary depending upon previous watering practices and the topography and soil type found on the property. However, studies have shown that in some instances, watering can be reduced up to 20%.

Are they easy to install?

Yes. There are nozzles to fit any conventional spray head body or shrub adapter, transforming that sprinkler into a high uniformity, lower application rate sprinkler with matched precipitation, even after arc and radius adjustment.

What is matched precipitation?

Matched precipitation means that all the sprinkler nozzles of this type that are made by any one manufacturer will apply water at the same rate, regardless of the size or shape of the area they water.

Are these nozzles adjustable?

Yes. Both the distance sprayed (radius) and pattern (arc) are adjustable, and adjustments do not compromise the application rate or the uniformity of applied water.

Will I need to change my sprinkler run times?

Yes. Because the water application rate is lower, the sprinklers will be applying only a fraction of the water that they were applying before. Accordingly, longer runtimes will also result in less water applied to the landscape, to a point.

Should everyone retrofit their irrigation system with these sprinkler nozzles?

No. A well designed and properly installed landscape irrigation system that applies water uniformly, without water running off the property or drifting away in a slight breeze is not necessarily a candidate for retrofit with these nozzles.

How do I determine if my sprinkler system is a good candidate for retrofit?

If you battle brown spots in the lawn during hot weather, or have a lot of water running onto the sidewalk or patio or down the street after your sprinklers water your landscape, you could most likely benefit from installing these nozzles.
