You’ll want to know, and have
easy access for a quick shut-off if there’s a leak, natural
disaster, or water emergency.
Most water meters can be found
in the sidewalk or the driveway near the sidewalk. In
some areas, meters are 10 to 15 feet beyond the sidewalk
or in nearby landscaping.
Shrubs, planters, and other landscaping
details can obscure access to the water meter. You can
help by peeling back clinging vines, trimming bushes, setting
aside planters, and moving other decorations hiding the
water meter box. |

In an emergency,
you will be able to turn off the water more quickly and
easily. And, easy access will reduce time and hazards in
reading the water meter.
