Commodity Charge are shown on your bill based on an on-site read of the meter at your property every other month. Bills are estimated only on the unusual occasions when an accurate read is impossible (i.e. the meter is damage or obstructed.) Noted as an estimate on the bill, these computations are based on your prior water use history.

Water Commodity Charge is based on the amount of water delivered through the meter at your property. Charges are computed by units, a standard measure for water sales which is equal to 748 gallons. Prices rise as water use at a property increases. This helps to encourage wise water use in our semi-arid region, where ALL local water must be imported more than 400 miles from Northern California.

Readiness to Serve Charge is a flat fee, which pays for your share of the pipes, pumps, reservoirs, and tanks needed to transport water to your property.

Service Charge is charged according to a flat fee, and IS NOT dependent on the amount of water you use. This system of charging is best in our region, where as much as 80 percent of local water is consumed outdoors. This water flows through storm drains to the ocean, never passing through the wastewater collection and treatment system.

Service Charges are determined by totaling the annual cost for wastewater treatment throughout the district and dividing by the number of properties served. These fees include the cost of extensive treatment to transform wastewater to recycled supplies, safe to return to the community for irrigation or to discharge into the unique local environment.

Properties in locations where wastewater must be pumped uphill to reach the treatment facilities are assessed higher fees, to offset the costs of additional infrastructure and energy.

Biosolids Composting also is included in your sewer fees. This progressive process transforms the solids from wastewater into a rich soil amendment - beneficially recycling waste materials and saving landfill space.

You will receive a single bill for all water and sewer charges every other month.

Paying Your Bill - Payment in full is due within 21 days of the "billing issue" date and may be paid by mail or in person at the district headquarters at 4232 Las Virgenes Road, Calabasas, California 91302. Please pay your bill as soon as it is received; include the stub with your payment and return to us in the enclosed envelope.

Late Fee - A fee of 2% will be added to your balance if payment is received after the stated due date.

Returned Checks - Checks returned for insufficient funds may be redeemed in cash at the district's office within 24 hours of notice, with payment of the redemption fee. If the check is not redeemed within 24 hours, a shut off notice will be issued and water service will be shut off in three (3) working days.

Disconnect/Reconnect Charge - A fee will be charged for delivery of a disconnect notice and a separate fee will be charged for the trips to turn off/turn on water service for the lack of payment. (If your service is shut off by the district, a district Service Technician must be the one to turn your service back on.)

Deposit Requirements - A deposit will be required on accounts where a final notice has been made five (5) or more times within any two-year period or if service has been disconnected for non-payment of charges. The deposit must be paid before service will be reconnected.
