LVMWD Social Media Policy

WE MONITOR COMMENTS DURING NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS

We recognize that the Internet is a 24/7 medium and your comments are welcome at any time. However, given the need to manage resources, we only monitor our social media channels and respond to comments during normal business hours (8 a.m. to
5 p.m., Monday through Friday). When closed for holidays, we review comments on the next business day.

WE MODERATE COMMENTS

We want our social media channels to provide a welcoming environment for everyone who participates, so we reserve the right to delete comments that:

  • Intimidate other posters in an attempt to discourage their participation, including but not limited to comments attacking another’s race, color, gender, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, ethnicity, age, religion, or disability;
  • Contain obscene, indecent, or profane language;
  • Contain threats or defamatory statements;
  • Promote or endorse services or products.


YOUR COMMENTS ARE PUBLIC RECORDS

LVMWDis a public agency; the information and comments posted on our social media channels are public records and will be retained in accordance with the California Public Records Act. Therefore, any content posted – comments (even deleted comments), photos, videos, subscriber lists, etc. – could be subject to public disclosure.

PERSONAL CONTACT INFORMATION

To protect your privacy, please do not include personal information (e.g., email address or phone number) in your comments or social media posts.

If you would like us to contact you, please send us a private message, or email us at customer_service@lvmwd.com. In some cases we may also ask you to provide your name and email address so that we can contact you, if necessary. If we request contact information, it should be sent in a private message, or emailed to us at customer_service@lvmwd.com. It is our policy not to publish your email address.
